Consultation
20 minutes
See if we are a good fit. No pressure.
BookPast experiences can continue to shape how safe, connected, or in control you feel today. Trauma counselling offers a steady place to understand those effects at your pace, without pressure to disclose more than you are ready to share.

Trauma counselling is not about pushing you to relive painful experiences. We begin with what is affecting you now and what would help you feel steady enough to engage in the work.
You decide what to talk about and how quickly we move. The work makes room for your history, culture, relationships, values, and the ways you learned to survive.
Samer takes a grounded, collaborative approach. The work considers your history, culture, relationships, values, and the full context of your life.
Sessions are available in English and Arabic.
Focus on what is affecting your life now.
Understand fighting, fleeing, freezing, pleasing, or shutting down.
Develop ways to return to the present when reactions feel automatic.
Approach difficult experiences only when and how you choose.
Build an identity that is not defined only by what happened.
You stay alert even when nothing obvious is wrong.
You shut down, disconnect, or go numb when things become overwhelming.
Anger arrives quickly, sometimes before you understand what set it off.
You avoid certain memories, conversations, places, or situations.
Trust feels difficult, even with people you care about.
You question whether what happened was serious enough to matter.
You do not have to make complete sense of this before asking for support.
Individual counselling is available in person in Vernon and online. Text, email, or call if you do not see a time that works. Samer responds within one business day.
